I haven’t been working since last week. We have been preparing our move to Strasbourg for the 3rd week of the month and so – I have some time left to practice photography and photo-editing. Yup – I bought a new camera! Woot! It’s a Canon EOS 500D (took the advice of a friend who is a professional photographer) and so I have been shooting like a freak in Paris.
I still have got to get that tripod. Wake up at sunrise and miss dinner tso I can catch the sunset! These are stuff I have to do if I want to photograph landscapes. But anyway, yesterday was a disappointment. I have a lot to learn and I am just sooo impatient.
This is the only photo that came out, which I think is kinda OK (after editing it in photoshop). Anyway, I remember my photographer friend told me that photos are usually 90 % photoshop.
These are kids in Champs Elysees – it looked like some sort of a field trip to me.

hey… I reached you over kalas blog.
I just bought the Canon EOS 500D too a few days ago
I’m deeply satisified… that is one of my first real tries: http://c1.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images02/88/l_280824b388a44839b9c54c82a6291524.jpg (sorry long url)
how have you done the blurry background and many people focused? I know this works with objects, but not with a “group”. like it!

hi jessi! nice photo – i like the smoke or fog effect. i edited the photo in photoshop – used the motion blur filter and masked all the people that are in the photo. it took a long time for me to do it, but finally, it’s fine.
isn’t the canon 500d great? i’m still a beginner in taking shots. if you have some tips, i’ll be happy to listen. thanks and keep up the good work.
oohh. 500D.. Nice! more photography and less Photoshop please.
